Kadena Wallet is a self-custody desktop wallet for holders of Kadena (KDA), built by KADENA WALLET LLC — a Florida-based entity incorporated on December 2, 2025. The wallet is open-source under the MIT License and you can download Kadena Wallet for Windows, macOS, or Linux free of charge. It has completed an independent third-party security audit; the full report is pending public release. This page covers who we are, what we built, why we built it, and the principles that guide the work.

Who we are

Legal entity:
KADENA WALLET LLC
Type:
Limited Liability Company (LLC)
Jurisdiction:
State of Florida, USA
Incorporated:
December 2, 2025
Registered office:
7752 NW 72nd Avenue, Medley, FL 33166, USA

We do not name individual founders or team members on this page. The entity stands on its own merits — the product, the audit, the open-source code, the operational track record — rather than on personality. This is a deliberate choice and is consistent across the site.

What we built

Kadena Wallet is the product. It is a native desktop wallet for Windows, macOS, and Linux, designed specifically for Kadena (KDA) holders. Key properties:

  • Self-custody. You hold your private keys. We cannot access your funds.
  • Native desktop. Standalone application, no browser dependency.
  • Full 20-chain support. Native handling of Kadena's Chainweb architecture, including automated cross-chain transfers.
  • Multi-format seed import. Imports recovery phrases from Chainweaver (custom derivation), eckoWALLET (BIP39), Koala Wallet (24-word), and any standard BIP39 wallet without manual conversion.
  • Hardware wallet support. Pairs with Ledger Nano S Plus and Nano X via WebHID.
  • Mining-payout receive UX. Built specifically for Kadena ASIC miners receiving recurring payouts.
  • eckoDEX integration. Swap KDA via dApp-connect to the largest Kadena DEX. See Kadena Swap.

For the full feature inventory see Kadena Wallet.

Why we built it

We saw an opportunity to build the kind of mainstream-quality desktop wallet the Kadena chain had not previously had — with first-class 20-chain Chainweb support, multi-format seed import, Ledger pairing, and a UX tuned for KDA holders and miners. We incorporated KADENA WALLET LLC in December 2025 specifically to take this on.

Open source

Kadena Wallet is released under the MIT License. The full source code is available for inspection.

The MIT License is a permissive open-source license. It allows anyone to use, modify, and distribute the software, including for commercial purposes, with attribution and no warranty. We chose it for two reasons:

  1. Auditability. Anyone can verify what the wallet does. This matters for software that handles cryptocurrency.
  2. Permissionless ecosystem contribution. Developers can fork, extend, or integrate the wallet without negotiating with us.

The code repository, build instructions, and licensing documentation are linked in our public-facing developer resources.

Security audit

Kadena Wallet has completed an independent third-party security audit. The full report is pending public release; details will be published when available.

We will update this page with the full audit findings, methodology, and any remediation work once the report is publishable. Until then, the high-level disclosure above is the most we can state with the level of specificity the situation warrants.

This is consistent with our broader approach: we do not make security claims that we cannot substantiate. Pre-publication audit claims are common in cryptocurrency marketing and are often impossible for users to verify; we hold the specific claims for when they can be substantiated rather than overstating what we can currently support.

Editorial principles

These are the principles that guide what we publish on this site and how we describe the chain, ourselves, and our competitors.

Factual over editorial. We report what is verifiable. We do not editorialize on whether Kadena will recover, whether KDA is a good investment, or how individuals associated with the project should be regarded.

No investment advice. We do not give buy, sell, or hold recommendations. We provide context that informs decisions; the decisions are yours.

No price predictions. Cryptocurrency price prediction at horizons beyond a few weeks has a poor empirical track record. We will not pretend otherwise. See Kadena price prediction.

Wellbeing-aware on status content. Pages like Is Kadena dead? and Wallet recovery will be read by people in financial distress. We aim for honesty without cruelty and clarity without false hope.

Fair to competitors. Other Kadena wallets (eckoWALLET, Koala, Zelcore, Enkrypt) are described accurately and fairly on the comparison pages. Where they are better than us at something, we say so. Where we are better, we say that too. The Kadena ecosystem in 2026 is small enough that respect among the actively-maintained projects matters.

No external links. We do not link to external sites at launch. This is a deliberate choice that simplifies maintenance and avoids endorsing third parties we cannot continuously verify.

Sourced and dated. Specific claims include dates and sources where available. We do not invent specifics to fill space.

Frequently asked

Can I trust Kadena Wallet with significant funds?
The wallet is non-custodial (we cannot access your funds), open-source (you can verify the code), and has completed an independent third-party security audit (full report pending). For higher-value balances, we recommend pairing with a Ledger hardware wallet. See Kadena hardware wallet.

Who maintains Kadena Wallet?
KADENA WALLET LLC. We are a small product team focused on this single product.

Is Kadena Wallet a fork of Chainweaver?
No. Kadena Wallet is an independent codebase. We support importing Chainweaver recovery phrases (because that is useful for migrating users) but the wallet is not derived from Chainweaver's code.

Where is your office?
7752 NW 72nd Avenue, Medley, FL 33166, USA.

Why don't you name founders on this page?
Deliberate choice. The entity stands on the product, audit, code, and operational track record rather than on personality. This avoids creating personality risk for the project and reflects our position that what matters is what we build, not who we are individually.
